SkyWay’s Sports and Mentoring programme has been awarded Impact Level 4 quality mark by Skills Builders. The SkyWay Transition programme is a holistic initiative designed to support the successful transition of students from Year 6 to Year 7. It integrates multi-sports and physical activities with targeted mentoring sessions led by dedicated youth workers, all thoughtfully planned within the context of the Skills Builder Universal Framework. This project is funded by London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU), supported by the Mayor of London, and delivered by SkyWay as the delivery organisation.
This programme captures all eight essential skills: listening, speaking, problem solving, creativity, staying positive, aiming high, leadership and team work. Achieving Impact level 4 means young people have had the chance to reflect on these essential skills before and after applying them, with programme content that is specifically targeted on making steps of progress.
We are now on the Skills Builders Impact Directory. This is a great way to celebrate the fantastic work of programme to support young people to identify and articulate their essential skills and see their progression, and for this to be shared across our Partnership with a range of employers, educators and organisations.
